Project Trunacy initiative
ClientLambeth Council
Excited by the work that SPY had completed with the joinedupdesignforschools initiative, SPY was initially commissioned by Lambeth Council to create an Ad Campaign that would encourage increased attendance amongst the Borough’s six to sixteen year olds during a two week period.
Rather than use a conventional “48 sheet ” medium, SPY challenged the brief and wanted to make a connection in a way that would be appropriate to the young and disenchanted audience, whilst simultaneously involving the parents.
Through invigorating the value of learning, beyond the Curriculum confines, SPY aspired to open the minds of the absentees to life beyond school. In conjunction with its experience of creating effective consumer-focused marketing programmes SPY created the “ I wish” competition that involved pupils planning their own dream lesson. The remit was open ended and relied on the pupils’ creative endeavour and innovation. Who, where, what and how was in their hands and imaginations.
The scheme launched in February 2006 with a winner announced at the IMAX in March. SPY are currently developing a new blueprint for other Education Authorities.
